John 15:1-2 “I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.
The vine was a valuable plant in the Bible days which further adds value to this scripture of JESUS (Jehoshua or Joshua in Greek) referring to HIMSELF as the True Vine. The Vinegrower in this scripture is a reference to GOD-Jehovah (I Am; The Eternal Living One…Yehovah in Hebrew…Eternal). The vingrower tends to the vines in a vineyard, and cuts off any branches that bears no fruit from the vines, because they are void of us. The word prune (meaning to cleanse in Greek) is also present in this passage, and it shines light on the fact that The Vinegrower-GOD, will chip off the rigid pieces of that branch which does bears fruit, and bless it to produce more fruit.
If we were view our own lives with spiritual lenses on and link it to bearing fruit for Christ, I think we would ask ourselves these questions: what are those fruit? Am I producing what HE desires of me? Am I a useless branch taking up room? Do I bear fruit, but have a few flaws that can be chipped off?
If you didn’t know, our purpose here ultimately is to praise HIM, believe that JESUS is truly GOD’S SON, take care of the earth, love one another, and to save souls. So, what fruit are you bearing? I don’t know about you all, but I’m going to truly ponder on this one for a few days.
